Theories why Mourinho did it with Inter but not Madrid

Only after the first leg, it seems the road is over for Madrid. They lost 2-0 at their own ground..... which means the second leg in Nou Camp will be nothing more than a boring match of Barca passing the ball around and Madrid either running around like dogs or just stay back to try make the result respectable. My bet, Barca for final and win the cup.

I was rooting for Madrid eventhough a Madrid-Man U final will most likely result in Man U winning the title. At least a Man U-Madrid game will be more 'entertaining' than watching Barca dictate the game against a bunch of headless devils. Face it, Man U plays pretty much like Madrid at the moment... direct running and extensive use of body strength (except for Nani and Park).

Back to the main topic, why can't Mourinho do it again....given the resources given to him... It's quite simple, Madrid have stars while Inter is full of fallens. Italy is known to be a pre-retirement league now... or a league to re-ignite fallen stars. Look at Ibra..Ronaldinho...Ronaldo...Sneider..Cicinho....Cassano... Eto'o... Beckham ... When these players face big clubs, they tend to give extra so that people will remember that they're still that good... That was the case when Inter played in last year's edition.

When we compare Madrid now and the Inter last season, they're being set up the same way..but will different players...thus results will vary. With Inter, Mourinho uses right wing back and left attacking winger for his flanks because he had Maicon and Eto'o. With Madrid, his strongest wing back is Marcelo on the left.... and strongest winger is Ronaldo on the right. However, he doesn't have a strong central targetman like Milito..... Higuain is a real poacher but he's a bit too small while Benzema is too much flair. SO he had to shift Ronaldo to center..making Maria his strongest winger which is on the left. That creates an imbalance..so he shifted Maria to the right. However, on the right..Maria will not be able to deliver crosses on his right foot since he is all left....again, imperfection. Now, the flanks are not functioning well because Maria will have to deliver crosses with his left foot from the right....thus, deep crosses which will be dealt easily by Pique or Valdes. Ronaldo will have to hope slip ups from any of them, which occured after 90 minutes of playing during the Spanish CUp final...and the goalkeeper was Pinto....

Next we look at the central area... with Inter, Sneider was playing behind MIlito. His role was to shoot to goal, which his accuracy and strong shooting.... goalkeepers will tend to mishandle and spill the ball for Milito to tuck in. With Madrid.... he tried with Ozil but he didn't get any decent shot... Mourinho tried with Alonso but he doesn't have real fluidity to bring the ball to his optimum range. Plus, Alonso operated a little too deep..a little too far to shoot. I'm not sure if Kaka would have done the trick but as far as I remember...Kaka spreads the ball around..not shoot from range. Thus, his best bet to fill Sneider's role was actually Ronaldo.... Which Mourinho tried when he brought in Adebayor for Ozil.

With Inter, Mourinho covering in midfield was done by Cambiasso.... quality defensive midfielder that roams around spreading the ball to the attacking players. In Madrid, Mourinho had to use Pepe... pushed from center back. Defensive-wise Pepe is better Cambiasso...but passing....haiya... To add more defensive cover, Mourinho added Lass. I think Lass is better than Pepe but he's lacking in real competetive matches. Lass was assigned to disrupt the tempo of Xavi and Barca wingers. The problem with Pepe being pushed up is that, in defense we have Albiol and Ramos. To me, Ramos is more suited as right back because, well..look at him when he plays on the right. In Albiol... I don'te really have anything to say... He's not really a center back...a little to small if you ask me...and a little to slow. He plays best when he's paired with Pepe... 'coz Albiol is good with holding up players and Pepe will cut in. That was the plan when Mourinho paired Albiol with Ramos since Ramos is quick like Pepe too.... But I guess Ramos doesn't think as good as Pepe.

Although Madrid is no Inter, Mourinho have enough quality to at least grab a draw... He uses the best players available to fill in the game plan like how he did it with Inter. It went well until Pepe got sent off. WIth Pepe out, only Lass was around to provide defensive cover in midfield. So Alonso had to drop down a little...leaving a huge hole in the middle...Xavi took advantage. Alonso is not as quick as Pepe...thus a double act on the left with Marcelo on the left will not go well if the winger is very very fast... on came Affelay to replace tired legs of Pedro. Pedro and Affelay plays more or less the same..but the absence of Pepe, the lacking of speed in Alonso and the fresh legs of Affelay made it possible for Affelay to break loose from Marcelo and cross for Messi to finish. As for the second goal.... a jaded Madrid is easy to break... Madrid lacks the will power...the resistance.. because they're a bunch of pampered stars... They have nothing to prove because they're already in one of the most successful club in the world... Once they're behind...they hardly have the strength to claw back. Plus, Madrid already won the Spanish Cup..it's more than they've targeted this season.

Messi factor?? Well... to be fair..he moves around compared to Ibra. Ibra is a striker..while Messi is a shifted striker. Messi might not be a threat on air but Barca doesn't go for high crosses anyway...everything pass is a through ball..one two .... pass to space.... Messi thrive with that plan. That is why Mourinho's plan was to disrupt the flow.... and to do that....11 players is needed...One gone and the plan will end..... Because Madrid is not Inter...BYah!!

Happy Easter

Although I'm wishing everyone a Happy Easter, it's hard for me to be joy and all since a friend of mine just lost his dad.... but for the rest of you, just enjoy this day, the day Jesus Christ rose again....as our saviour....Byah!

Deepest condolonces...

They say, on the day you send the dead/coffin to the cemetery, the skies will fall as a sign of sorrow and sadness. I guess that is the case for this morning, the burial of late Dr. Edward Chendang, father of my close friend, Kingston Billy. His departure was shocking news for us, and even still now. A healthy man, active in sports, regular exercise, rarely eats outside and now he’s gone. Let us pray for his soul to be with among great men, a place where he should belong. As for Kingston and his family, hope that they will overcome this difficult time and move on….Amen.

Dear You_4

You see, things just didn't work out and I just could not see myself able to tell it right to your face. I know how you will react and I know I might have a change of heart just because of that.

You changed to ..I don't know.... to a very KL person. You did not notice it but I do... coz I'm not a fan of KL attitude. Suddenly every little things became important.. labels, brands, looks, style, talk.... all bullshit if you ask me. Since that's the lifestyle you chose..since that's the identity you'd prefer..then there is no point anymore..

Maybe what I'm saying here does not or make very little sense... when I think back, it doesn't too. They say love never made any sense in the first place...but it will reach one point where one will realize it's only a crossroad between reality and imaginary world.

But I don't mind if you blame me for everything.. I'd say it's my fault for not saying things a lot earlier... I could have ended it a lot earlier so that the hurt would be less... Now...it's better this way... Don't you think so?

Byah..

Study week..

Well..I'm in my study week now...1 week break before final exams, then it'll be my industrial training. My study week is a little longer though, since my first paper will be on the 30th April....and then 3rd,4th,5th and 6th May..gilaaaaaa!!! I've never had papers in consecutive days!!!! As much as I have a good feeling about this semester, again I don't think it'll be the one I'm going to score... Bila la aku mok masuk anugerah dekan owh... GPA 3 gik belom.... never mind...you can do it.. Be a man, do the right thing!!... Wish me all the best...BYah!!!!

Wrong move...very wrong move..

This article in Utusan will give a huge impact in this year's election... I think, most if not all the areas with chinese majority...will be won by opposition... you just can't say that government should stop giving to the chinese because they're voting the opposition. They're voting the opposition because they feel that they're not getting enough...and if you give them less...it will only get worse... and then the Indians will start to reject too...and the non-Malay bumi might follow the trend...

The best way to win them back is to give more than before.. if they want change, then change... if they want transformation, transform la.. remember, always keep you friends near, but also keep your foes at an armslength... Byah!!

Saja bah..

So as you guys know..the Sarawak's General Election is over..and BN still rule 2/3 of the state...but a huge casualty in terms of the Deputy Chief MInister..yup..The SUPP president lost in Piasau to DAP...

OK..I know you guys care less on the BN seats...so here are the non-BN winners:

Pelagus - BEBAS
Krian - Keadilan
Ba'kelalan - Keadilan (Baru Bian ya'll)
Batu Lintang - Keadilan
Piasau - DAP (sorry DCM)
Kota Sentosa - DAP (Sorry again Datuk Alfred Yap)
Padungan - DAP (I still feel sorry for Dominique Ng Kim Ho..lost seat, lost deposit)
Pujut - DAP
Pending - DAP
Batu Kawah - DAP (by now you can see that Kuching is not BN's supporters)
Meradong - DAP
Pelawan - DAP
Dudong - DAP
Kidurong - DAP
Bukit Assek - DAP
Repok - DAP

In conclusions, BN won the rural seat..but town and city areas have acknowledge that transformation is not enough, but change... That's all folks.. Byah!!

A picture = A thousand words..

This is golden (taken from http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1377733/Mario-Balotellis-wink-sparks-riot-Clashes-mar-Manchester-Citys-Wembley-triumph.html)

Better luck next season Man U...BYah!!

Hikers

Yesterday (Sunday), a few classmates of mine went to hike Mount Santubong. I was supposed to be with them but I had a few errands to attend to. But I can say I'm quite envious with them.

I want to hike Mount Santubong because I haven't done so. I ever cross the trekking route there but I never went to hike it. Hopefully I can join them the next time we have such plans. For now, just enjoy some of the pics they took.

The greens...the view from top...aiya.... let's go...

Bahang Pilihanraya Sarawak

THE date...16th April 2011.... election..election..election... vote for your FUTURE!! Who are you voting for?? Opps..undi adalah rahsia rite?? Regardless of the party, I hope you're voting for the right person... a good person will always be good even if the party does not carry the same image...Well, that's what I think la....that's why in the last general election, some former BN guys manage to win as independant candidate simply because of the good work they've done to their domain....Vote for the right person and it'll benefit you... So don't forget..vote 'coz "We want YOUR vote!!"

p/s: Connection too slow for me to upload any pics...

Crazieee week...

The week is not over yet but this week surely has become the number one contender as the craziest week for this semester. Last Monday, my lecturer, went berserk and gave all of us zero for assignment, quiz and project... DON'T get me wrong la... It's not like all of us in my class get zero for our carry marks, but basically he reset all our carry marks to zero...

What happened was that, he gave out evaluation forms...and some smart fellas wrote nasty remarks and indicated that we did not meet the course outcome for this semester. Just because of these fellas, he assumed all of us did not achieve the course outcome.....

It's a bit unfair really...although those fellas were dumb themselves, but I don't think the lecturer handled the situation professionally. I mean he claimed he's a professional engineer with 7/9/20 years of experience on the floor... so I think he could have viewed those comments professionally and move on for the better in the next semester. I always see that evaluations as a tool to evaluate performance and improve if there is any need to.

As for me, it's quite harsh for those whom had done so much for respective project topics and mid semester exam. I've seen my group members seeing him day in and day out to tune sections of the project..print and reprint..edit and re-edit... Mind you, it was a lot of work eventhough there are 10 of us in a group...

I guess he felt he could not take those comments and lashed out at all of us... To replace the marks, he gave us homework and on class tutorials...and many more to come next week and the week after. In a way, I'm ok with it because at least we have a clear guideline on what to do this time to get the marks coz for our project; the guideline and topic itself was very vague. However, viewing that next week is the final acedemic week, it's not really a good idea to give fresh burden to all of us...mind you, someone did jumped off the bridge last week...Byah!!

New thing to do...

Last Wednesday, I went to SGH to lepak...and eventually, went for free medical checkup la... and I found out that I'm in deep shit... BMI 30 dah kira obese...and mine is 36!!! Plus, there is something not normal with liver test...but they don't really know the problem yet..hopefully nothing too serious....

Blood pressure is a bit high but Doc doesn't want me to go under medication..my god chlesterol is low and as expected, the bad cholesterol high la.. conclusion nya... I need to lose weight by exercising... So please ya'll..if ada futsal ka..badmintn ka..ajak la aku... need to lose 40kg!!!!! Luckily my sugar level test came back normal.. Byah!!

Meeting Mr. John

Nope guys, this is not THE John Lee... but an old friend, way back since primary school. He left for KL to study and then work after secondary school and his family are also there now. Apparently he managed to buy cheap AA tickets, so he just pulang BDC for the fun of it.

It's been a while since I last met him, and the last time (2007) it was during a BBQ session in KL at his apartment area...and last nite, jumpa him durig a BBQ session at his BDC crib. Time flies eh...he looked smaller...or am I the one getting bigger? The latter sounds more logical eh? cilaka...

He gave me a call yesterday...padah ada BBQ... mistake na juak.. I baru jak set an appointment with another friend...cuba la call awal owh... anyway, I only went off to his place at 10pm plus la..so reached there around 11pm. The nice thing about my timing is that I was only 1 hour away from midnight. It was a Lent Friday ba, so I 'cannot' eat meat. After midnight baru can.... berliur jak la nangga them eating 3-layer pork and chicken wings.... but since we were like BBQ-ing until 2am..so memang I manage to get hold to some after midnight....

Basically we just borak kosong..cathing up on these and that...and of course the suicide story memang came up also la.... I guess the story will go on for another few days.. but I thik people will eventually forget about it.... Good also la, not really something we all should remember..vote for LIFE...Byah!!

Relationship between Economics and Process Control

In the past, economics has little meaning to engineers since engineers create and build without thinking much about the cost and materials. However, time has change and we no longer have raw materials in abundance. With limited sources and costly materials, engineers have no choice but to consider the economics side of engineering.

One field where engineers have to monitor cost and profit is process control in the industry. In any industry, a process or multi-processes will always involve raw materials and supportive elements like labour hour, machine hour, and salary in order to produce a product. Raw materials and supportive elements are what we view as variables in process and these variables determine if the process is profiting, sustainable or not sustainable. To deduce values of the variables and to relate between input and output of a process, we use Cobb-Douglas Production Function.

Obtaining values of α, β and γ will enable us to do the next step, α+β+γ. This step will give us the following conditions:
• α+β+γ < 1, the return scale is decreasing
• α+β+γ > 1, the return scale is increasing
• α+β+γ = 1, the return scale is constant

To solve Cobb-Douglas Production Function, we can either use Microsoft Excel or SPSS software.

Machine Vision System

Machine vision system is a system that is capable to acquire one or more images by using an optical, non-contact sensing device. Decisions are made after the processing, analyzing and measuring various characteristics by the sensing device.

In the context of manufacturing, machine vision is a branch of engineering that uses computer vision. Machine vision analyse images to extract data for controlling a process or activity. Machine visions are applied for the quality assurance, sorting, material handling, robot guidance and calibration.

For any vision system, 2 important specifications are sensitivity and resolution. Sensitivity here refers to the ability to detect or differentiate small changes like brightness. As for resolution, it’s the ability to differentiate objects. Usually, sensitivity and resolution are interdependent. This means if sensitivity is high, resolution will be lower and vice-versa.

One of the areas where machine vision system is used is the 3D Model Construction. This is extensively used in entertainment (animation and effects) industry to create digital 3D models. Using scanned 3D models is a lot easier and time saving compared to creating 3D models from scratch.

3D scanner works by scanning and analyzing a real object and reconstruct it as a 3D model in digital mode. Scanning and analyzing is done when the scanner projects wave to the object(s) and collects the reflection of the wave. This wave can be light, ultrasound, laser or x-ray.

An example of a 3D scanner is the time-of-flight laser scanner, a non-contact active scanner type. The main part of this scanner is the laser rangefinder. Just like the name itself, rangefinder, it finds the range between the scanner and object by deducing time for the laser to reflect from the object to the scanner. The precision to measure time is very important for this device because it signifies accuracy.

A laser rangefinder detects an object one point at a time, which means to detect an object; direction view of the scanner must change to scan different point. To change direction view, we either rotate the rangefinder or use a rotating mirror system. Rotating mirror system is the better choice because they’re lighter, making them faster to rotate at a better accuracy.

Another example where machine vision system is used, is for quality assurance. It is the systematic monitoring and evaluation of the various aspects of a project, service or facility to maximize the probability that minimum standards of quality are being attained by the production process. Quality assurance cannot absolutely guarantee the production of quality products but it can reduce the probability of damage. Quality assurance will make sure that the quality of the product produced at least at the minimum requirement for the production.

The system involve camera for motion capture and process the image captured into digital form of image. The system works by capturing the image of the output product and compare the image with the set point image. If the image captured did not satisfy the requirement, the system will trigger the product as faulty and thus the product will be sent back.
For example, label inspection on wine bottles. If the figure/label on the bottle is not the same in database, then the bottle will be sidelined as reject.

There are other applications of machine vision system like in the security (e.g retina recognition, thumb print recognition), medical (bacteria detection) and safety (currency detector)sector.

Brave Leap

If you really look at it in a different angle..what he did, the guy yang bunuh diri tuh... it was a brave thing to do really..a brave leap indeed... I mean imagine how he did it.. jump from the bridge into the one of the deeper area of the lake... sinking and sinking... struggle for air...your body become heavier since you're in jeans and there's a big rock in your bag... you're losing breath.. water start to strangle you..and finally...

For me...I'm a lil' afraid of heights... so jumping into the water pun dah takut... and the thought of struggling for air while being pinned down..aiseh... I'm not brave enough to do it... and I'm pretty sure most of us are the same..

C'mon..I'm pretty sure most of us ever think about death whenever an obstacle gets too hard... but we never really have enough courage to do it..coz we're just too scared of death.. it's not really because we cherish life or anything... want me to prove it?? well, if life is something we can reset..I think most of us will just bunuh diri la if things sik ikut plan...like when we play video game la.. If colony dah kena serang kaw kaw..I'm pretty sure we just send our hero 'naked' into battle field... We dare to do it because we know we can reset ba... but in real life..we don't dare because it's not somethig we can reset or restart...

However...I'm not asking you all to be brave and finally do it for real la.. I'm just saying he had the guts to do it...if only he used the same idea on living this life owh... have the guts to face all the challenges... BYah!!
